I have a few Oasis plus models that I keep in the shop for re-humidifying
dried out guitars, and a few standards that I use at home. They actually
make a "re-hydrator" model that is intended only for use in professional
shops as well.

I've had them for at least the year, and the standard and plus models are
quickly becoming my most recommended soundhole humidifiers. I get mine
from StringsByMail.com, great folks, cheaper for strings and accessories
than about anyone else, plus they're located about a 10-15 minute walk
from my shop.
Really cuts down on the shipping costs!
You would think, but I have to walk right by a bakery on the way there
that usually costs me much more than shipping would.

I was a little hesitant when the Oasis first came out, still leery from the
Grit Laskin's Humitar debacle. Seemed like a great idea, but Dean Markley
had them made and there were ton's of problems that developed. With all
it's leaky seals, recalls and soaked guitars left behind by the Humitar, I
waited about a year before endorsing the Oasis. As of yet I've only
personally heard of one that sprung a leak, and that owner later found
out from his wife that their dog had been chewing on it the day before.

in my house , to keep the air proper for acoustic guitars .. ( since I burn wood when the temp gets in the low 20's) I  use a vaporizer ( yep the same thing parents use when thier children are ill), with a hygrometer ( on a shelf in the oppposite side of the room ). and a ceiling fan ...i used a humidifier  a few years back.. but with the filter issues , and the possibility of mold growing on the filters.. I feel better about the vaporizer... Jody
